a little heart
This is one of my favorite views along Nicollet Avenue and I would guess there aren't too many mornings that I don't gaze through the bus window at this building as I'm heading off to work.

trek to the Very Large Array
We finally made it to the VLA: my husband, my brother and the rental vehicle. My mother wanted to come, but was too ill and stayed in bed while we went out joyriding.
I had wanted to make this trip for awhile, but I didn't envision visiting the VLA when it was freezing outside and the jean jacket and hoodie combo I brought along didn't provide much resistance to the howling wind, so our visit didn't last much longer than an hour and most of that was spent inside at the visitor center. Next time I visit, I'd like to take the walking tour outside the center and stand underneath one of the satellites. And hope I don't run into any snakes of course.
